Gooding Veterinary Clinic utilizes Zoom meetings to facilitate our virtual visits. These telemedicine visits can be helpful if you are unable to drive to the clinic, your pet is very anxious in the clinic, or your schedule doesn’t match up with ours. We often use virtual visits for direct discussions with Dr. Parish. This may include further direction for home treatment, explanation of previous diagnosis or lab work, or in depth questions about nutrition or behavior. Virtual visits also work well for Quality of Life assessments and some rechecks.
Diagnosis is not always possible via telemedicine.
Telemedicine consultation can help determine if any home care can be started, if an in clinic exam is needed, or to answer questions a pet owner may have. If a diagnosis is possible via telemedicine, then any medications or treatments needed can be picked up in clinic or ordered through our online pharmacy.
There are specific laws governing veterinary telemedicine in Idaho. A veterinary-client-patient relationship must be established, the client and patient must physically be in the state of Idaho, appropriate medical history and records must be obtained.
We are excited to implement this new method of veterinary care here at Gooding Vet Clinic!
