Our History
Gem Veterinary Clinic has been providing veterinary care to the Gooding area since the 1960s. The clinic has remained in its original location, undergoing several big renovations through the decades. Many young Gooding-ites grew up in this veterinary clinic experiencing firsthand the compassion and hard work involved in caring for Gooding’s pets and herds. The rich history and community involvement of this clinic will be proudly continued by its newest veterinarian, Dr. Amber Parish. Dr. Parish bought Gem Veterinary Clinic from Dr. Jack Amen in March 2018. She re-branded the practice as Gooding Veterinary Clinic.
At Gooding Veterinary Clinic, our people and culture are the heart of our practice. We understand that exceptional care for pets and their families begins with a team that is compassionate, skilled, and dedicated to our core values.

Dr. Amber graduated from Washington State University's College in Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She also has two associate degrees from The College of Southern Idaho, and a bachelors from the University of Idaho. Although moving a lot as a child, The Magic Valley has remained "home base". Her and her family raise cattle in filer and enjoy anything outdoors! Horse riding, skiing, snowboarding, ect. The family is also involved with 4-H and orchestra.
Kiera & Raelyn
Kennel Techs
Kiera and Raelyn are Dr. Parish's daughters. They are excited to be old enough to start helping their mom in the clinic! Raelyn wants to be a pet groomer and artist when she grows up. Kiera wants to be an exotics/large animal vet.
Mariela
Janitorial Specialist & Kennel Tech
Mariela has 5 amazing children, 4 sons and a daughter. She enjoys baking in her spare time and is an avid animal lover. She is intensely compassionate and has spent the past years with Gooding Vet learning and growing her skill set. We are so blessed to have her in our vet family! Mariela is the force that keeps Gooding Vet clean, organized, and functioning!
Calamity Jane
Clinic Cat
Calamity Jane was brought into the clinic at six weeks old, she was found at the park in town and was very sick. She was tough and recovered quickly and turned out to be a bit feisty. Calamity has been the only cat able to hold her own against our Indy. We adore the spunk she brings to the clinic!
